Note: While looking on the map in the village, a loose group of swallows caught my eye, possibly fleeing for a raptor. They were Barn Swallows and House Martins, as usual. But no raptor. The last swallow appeared a little unusual on jizz. A close flyby revealed a beautiful Red-rumped Swallow. The orangy rump was clearly visible, as well as the pale throat and neck-sides and the clear-cut separation of dark tail and pale undertail-coverts. Also flight behaviour was typical for the species with closed tail-streamers (sometimes) and longer sailings than Barn Swallow. It flew around for maybe 30 seconds and then continued northwards. A second bird that also flew by was most probably also this species but I couldn't get my bins on it before it disappeared behind the houses. We are familiar with this species from other trips to South-Europe and didn't notice on first hand that it was a rarity here.
